When Truth and Fiction With a Twist Becomes the New De Rigueur

About

I was going to call this blog Slightly Vengeful Musings From Your Typical Middlebrow but gosh darn if that didn’t sound ’sex’ enough for my first ‘grown up’ blog. So I went for the screamingly unpretentious French cocktail party headline instead. Hmm, wonder which one hits closer to home? You’ll just have to see for yourself, dearies.

This is not a blog to be tossed aside lightly. It should be thrown with great force.

Love in the time of marriage. Books. Travel. Music. Art. Photography. NYC, New Orleans, Boston, Paris, London and Rome. Entertainment with British accents. Satire. Interior design. Taste making. Style junkie. The French Diet for 2009. See also HIT LIST or THE DIARIST for more info.

I am attempting to keep this blog anonymous so I can feel I have a real freedom to write my thoughts and experiences without constant self-censorship. Dark sunglasses help.

This makes me laugh. Every. Single. Time.

I to have traveled the world. I wish more Americans would adopt a European lifestyle.

I’ve wanted to come out of hiding for years to tell you how wonderful I think you are. Your writing is amazing, your life-what you share with your readers-is beautiful, heart breaking, hopeful and just all around scrumptious! When I was the age you are now (I’m 43) my battle with emotional/weight/eating/trust issues could have been won so much easier, instead I buried myself beneath 185 pounds of denial. I’m finally scared enough to try to find myself again, to fight my way through all these awful layers. Reading your words I feel victory is possible for both of us. And for heaven’s sake, please publish something! Oh, and your photography is gorgeous!
